 Highlands Arabicas Limited / New Guinea Traders, LLC is a Papua New Guinea-headquartered plantation management and coffee trading agency owned by Paul Pora, an indigenous Papua New Guinean, and Aarlie Hull, an American. Pora and Hull founded the company in the late 1990's, and it has grown coffee on tribal estates since commencing operations. In 2003, the firm purchased the Madan Plantation, a coffee and tea plantation roughly 20 kilometers outside of Mount Hagen, the capital and largest city of the Western Highlands Province. Pora serves as the firm's Managing Director, while Hull is the Chairwoman of the Board. The company employs over 400 people in the Western Highlands Province, providing a rare source of consistent employment in the region. The mission of Highlands Arabica Limited is to use agricultural and business expertise, as well as first hand knowledge of tribal culture, to partner with indigenous Papua New Guinea landholders (tribes and clans) to successfully, consistently and honestly produce, process, and market high quality coffee from both proprietary coffee estates and tribally-owned coffee holdings. With a similar ethic, we also partner with select farmers from other nations where we have developed longstanding relationships, particularly in El Salvador. The company can ship containers of green coffee from the port of Lae, PNG to virtually any point in the world, and is skilled at customizing orders for individual customers.
