Highland Arabicas - Origin Projects

		Origin Projects As a coffee grower and significant employer in the Western Highlands Province, Highlands Arabicas Limited / New Guinea Traders, LLC is integrally involved in the lives of those who live in and around its managed and proprietary coffee holdings. As a result, starting in 2003 and born out of a deep desire to make life better in the highlands of PNG, a pilot project arose - the founding of Na Wokabaut, a specifically-targeted non-profit organization focused on the PNG coffee lands and growers. So far, Na Wokabaut projects have ranged from building the Kinjibi tribal school with the help of Portland Roasting Company (above) to building a comprehensive medical clinic on the Madan Plantation for workers and surrounding peoples (at left). In addition, to date, two wells have been dug on or around the Madan Plantation to provide clean drinking water to area residents and two more to be funded by Lofbergs Lila will be dug in early 2009 (below right). However, these projects are only the beginning, the founders and management of Highlands Arabicas Limited believe in significant grassroots development at origin and are committed to improving the economic and social backdrop of the Papua New Guinea highlands.
